Mythological, spiritual, pantheistic: the first adjectives to define the metaphysical world of Bruno 9li, one of the most interesting emerging artist within Brazilian artistic panorama. 9li (pseudonym/abbreviation of Bruno Novelli, 1980) synthetizes his artistic production into several dichotomies and contradictions of the Brazilian world: metropolitan, ephemeral and technological.
In his works, animals seem to spring out of the diaries and bestiaries of the first European explorations of the "New World", epic heroes strongly impose themselves to spectator's attention, through an immersion in a supernatural and ancestral world. A return to the origins, a lost Golden Era permeated by symbology, where you can clearly notice references to pop culture, comix and science fiction films.
With his frantic and saturated line, Bruno 9li draws a chaotically arranged world, ruled by a mysterious alchemy that controls, between past and future, death and resurrection, fantastic metamorphosis and genetic mutations of beasts and paladins into demigods and androids.
Despite of being young, Bruno 9li has been recognized worldwide for his solo exhibitions in Europe, North America and the Far East.

Anno Domini, the second coming of Art & Design, was proud to present Bruno 9Li's debut solo exhibit in the United States in April 2007. At that time, Bruno 9Li lived in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Bruno 9Li's inspirations come from daily life experiences of the diverse population from Brazil, as well as from his search for the meaning of life through spirituality, alchemy and cultural symbolisms.
He often speaks about "all being one", and he is deeply aware of the connection between people, animals and nature itself. 9Li creates works of art which share this vision with his audience through epic meetings between natural and supernatural beings. Those meetings, depending on the point of view, can be seen as mythic morality tales of the past, or as a keen foretelling of the future.
In his exhibit, Mysterium Tremendum (Overwhelming Mystery) at Anno Domini, there are works that incorporate mutations of man and beast, beast and nature, man and elements of nature. Bruno also painted the walls so that he could create a connection among all the drawings, suggesting the center of work as bigger story and each image being a chapter of this story.
Actually, Bruno 9Li lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He recently had a solo exhibit in Barcelona, Spain, he has an upcoming exhibit in Sao Paulo and will return to Anno Domini for his second solo exhibit in August 2008. his second solo exhibit in August 2008.
